A passion to do good

Ignited by the story of a deaf university student who was left alone during an evacuation as he was unable to hear the alarm, the group are now on a mission to help the hearing impaired.

They’ve devised a product called The Pulse which reconnects the hearing impaired with the auditory environment. A “sleek and stigma free situational stimulator band” which sends vibrations to the wearer allowing them to feel their environment.

Rippl believe they are the world’s first business to create a device like The Pulse. They were finalists in the Auckland Region Dragons Den, came second in iDEAStarter, and are currently exploring a partnership with the National Foundation of the Deaf (NFD).

Next for Rippl is to develop a prototype for controlled testing before public testing. These research and development phases require the team to raise $75,000 in start-up capital and are currently seeking donations.
