Prime Minister Bill English's Speech at Kea's WCNZ Awards 2017

The World Class New Zealand Awards are New Zealand's most prestigious individual achievement awards, Kea’s World Class New Zealand Awards recognise inspirational, world leading Kiwis and friends who are making outstanding contributions to New Zealand’s economic, social and cultural development.

2017 was another spectacular awards night held at a sold-out Viaduct Events Centre. The black-tie gala dinner was a golden opportunity to meet and network with New Zealand’s most influential business people, entrepreneurs and Government leaders.


The Rt Hon. Bill English, Prime Minister of New Zealand addresses the crowd for a speech celebrating New Zealanders. New Zealanders who possess an amazing mix of excellence who not only put so much in New Zealand but take those talents overseas.

To do this, World Class New Zealanders are the most authentic people in the world who have the unique ability for others to trust us, even Australians.

The winners of the night set the bench mark for what we can achieve in New Zealand, and Bill believes in investing support to produce the kind of New Zealand where more successful kiwis find home the most interesting place on earth.

Bill’s speech and the night was to honour the World Class New Zealanders who have shared their wisdom, their excellence, their achievements and their humility.
