In New Zealand, Babcock operates one of the country’s leading mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering facilities, managing the Devonport Dry Dock on behalf of the Royal New Zealand Navy and providing engineering support services to NZ Defence and the commercial shipping industry.

This newly created role will develop and lead an existing estimating team of six and will oversee estimations for all yard production activities, including naval and commercial vessels. You will be responsible for your team’s outputs, ensuring resources are allocated and schedules are met. Supporting the Bid proposal team through providing sound procurement advice and cost plans, you will also be ensuring accurate reporting and seek continuous improvements. You will also promote our Occupational Health & Safety values to ensure we provide a safe working environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in an Estimating and Pricing position
- Experience working on large scale engineering, maintenance, overhaul or repair environments
- Relevant educational qualifications
- Proven people management skills in developing and leading teams
- Practical experience and knowledge of Ship Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) related engineering practices.
