In each half-hour show, Annabel ventures out by jetboat, helicopter or in her trusty yellow truck to explore exciting new frontiers in food. With her free-spirited approach and effortless recipes, she demystifies the latest trends in food and shows US home cooks how easy it is to live healthily and resourcefully in today’s busy world.
The series has screened in 92 countries around the world and is now rolling out in major markets across the US. The Free Range Cook – Simple Pleasures is currently screening on Public Television in New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, Washington, Austin, Minneapolis, Cleveland, Charlotte and Los Angeles. To date, more than 70 percent of the public television market is putting the series on their schedules during Fall and Winter.

An adventurer at heart, Annabel is uniquely qualified for her role at the forefront of international trends for sustainability, having lived in the wilderness for much of her youth, growing vegetables, hunting and fishing, cooking over an open fire and living off the land.
Having always grabbed life with both hands, a horse riding accident proved a life-changing moment. Hospitalized for four months with a badly crushed spine and seven broken ribs, she was given a five percent chance of walking again. In the path of recovery she had plenty of time to reflect on how she could share her kitchen and garden skills and knowledge to empower others. And so her first cookbook was born. Her passion to connect people through cooking and show them that leading a good life is easily achievable has led her to develop the Free Range Cook television series.
