Kea and ASB partner up

ASB has partnered with expat association Kea as their global banking partner, furthering the bank’s support for Kiwi businesses to meet their ambitions.

With a community size exceeding half a million, Kea is a ‘borderless nation’ of Kiwis living offshore who connect with home and each other to share global experience, knowledge and opportunities.

The ASB-Kea partnership will see ASB have naming rights to the Kea Connect service, which helps connect Kiwi businesses to in-market industry experts within Kea’s global community.

And in a new initiative, Kea and ASB will this year launch the ‘Kea Connect Live’ event, gathering New Zealand businesses and members of Kea’s World Class New Zealand Network in an international business growth event, offering exclusive access to successful New Zealanders living and working in global markets.

ASB will also become a premium sponsor of the World Class New Zealand Awards in June, which recognise world-leading Kiwis whose achievements are defining New Zealand’s image internationally.

ASB Executive General Manager Corporate, Commercial and Rural Steve Jurkovich says Kea is a globally connected partner that is perfectly suited to help ASB support its customers to achieve their business ambitions offshore.

“We share common goals around business growth, and are both passionate about connecting New Zealand’s ideas, capital and people,” Mr Jurkovich says.

Kea has built up a valuable, international community that’s committed to helping New Zealanders succeed.  As a corporate partner, ASB will help create new opportunities to connect Kiwi businesses with the resources, knowledge and like-minded pioneers that can help them grow, Mr Jurkovich says.

“If you’re in business and looking to break into a new market, you’re probably only a few degrees of separation away from the contacts that can help you.

“Kea’s network helps narrow those degrees of separation in providing access to connections you would otherwise have had to make on your own.”

Global CEO of Kea Craig Donaldson says he is delighted to partner with ASB, which shares its passion for helping New Zealand businesses further their goals.

“New Zealand’s diaspora is estimated at 1 million people, and Kea’s research has shown more than 60 per cent of our expats have financial interests in New Zealand,” Mr Donaldson says.

“We’re excited to be working with an innovative financial institution that knows the value of the individuals in our borderless nation.

“Whether our expats plan to stay offshore or are considering returning home, we’re excited to partner with ASB to offer our expats and globally-minded domestic Kiwis a strong and reliable financial connection to New Zealand.”
