The University of Waikato has an exciting opportunity to join the newly created International Office where you will be working closely with a team of dedicated staff to deliver on the University’s strategic priority of internationalisation with specific responsibility for developing, supporting and facilitating study experiences for students.
The person in this role is responsible for overseeing the internal and external promotion and recruitment for the University’s Study Abroad and Exchange programmes. You will also be responsible for building new institutional partners and agreements as well as developing other types of global student mobility programmes.
To succeed, you will need to be able to engage and collaborate effectively with your Faculty colleagues as well as staff within our University partner institutions and the University’s marketing and admissions teams. You will have demonstrable strengths in relationship and stakeholder management within the Higher Education sector, including agents and institutional partners. From your knowledge of the study abroad and exchange environment, you will provide sound advice and data analysis for informed planning and decision-making and have a passion for outstanding client service delivery.
You will have excellent communication, presentation, organisational and influencing skills as well as experience in managing budgets. Experience of working in an International Office or similar environment and experience using social media and CRM systems for marketing and promotional activities are essential requirements for this role. Experience working with international mobility programmes and organising and managing student recruitment events and experience of living or studying abroad would be a distinct advantage.
It is essential you have a relevant tertiary qualification, with a post-graduate qualification in Marketing, International Studies or a related discipline preferable. Cultural awareness and sensitivity and the ability to travel extensively are essential requirements.
Commencing salary is expected to be in the range of $75,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on qualifications, skills and experience.
