Tourism New Zealand’s purpose in UK & Europe is to grow the value of visitors from the region for the benefit of the New Zealand economy. We do this by developing and implementing advertising, media, travel trade, and partnership strategies working co-operatively with our offices in NZ, strategic partners, such as airlines, and the travel industry in New Zealand.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to drive our UK/Europe trade and public relations operations in delivering great results for New Zealand’s tourism industry. The key focus will be to lead development of our Europe strategy for both this financial year and the next 4 year cycle.
This leadership role, reporting to the General Manager Americas & Europe, will be responsible for developing localized trade, PR and partnership strategies to drive superior outcomes. To do this you will drive coordinated strategies with the marketing communications team, develop and lead trade programmes, as well as undertaking cooperative marketing initiatives with local trade and airline partners. As Tourism New Zealand’s most senior representative in UK/Europe you will be active in working alongside other government departments and key stakeholders.
We need an engaging leader, who has a proven track record in leading and developing strategies and who can articulate this to a variety of audiences. As you will be managing a small remote team, you will need to have a natural ability to build effective relationships and networks and know how to grow a business. A passion for New Zealand is a must, and whilst not essential, experience working in a global capacity would be an advantage, as would an understanding of the New Zealand tourism sector.
If you can think strategically, and then operationalise strategy and enjoy working in a busy and challenging environment, then this could be the role for you.
