Job Opportunity: Business Manager, Kea, Auckland

This role is for someone who knows the power of networks with a demonstrated understanding of business development in the SME world.

  • support the international success of New Zealand and its people
  • increase export trade by providing New Zealand businesses with greater access to international markets
  • promote international investment into New Zealand’s productive and export sectors
  • provide New Zealand with access to global insights and relationships made available through the leaders of large global corporate, research, and education institutions who are active in the Kea and World Class NZ networks

The right candidate will have:

  • The ability to work effectively in a small global team with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong relationships at all levels
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen with the ability to identify, evaluate and execute business opportunities
  • Solid analytical and financial experience, effective problem solver, attention to detail
  • Decisive, proactive with ability and willingness to “crack the whip” to ensure team members meet set KPIs and achieve the overall objectives of the organisation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills, with the ability to develop and maintain administrative systems
  • A can do attitude, prepared to step up and help out wherever needed

This role is an integral part of Kea’s day-to-day operations, and will be responsible for:

Contracts/Reporting

  • Oversee performance of Kea’s contracts with central government and external sponsors
  • Manage and compile the submission Government contract reports as scheduled

Commercial

  • Identify, develop, engage in proposals with existing/new sponsors and partners
  • Prepare, oversee, review all sponsor/partner contracts and reporting
  • Oversee all team members to meet deliverables with key sponsors/partners

Governance

  • Prepare and circulate papers for bi-monthly Global Board meetings and Annual General Meeting
  • Attend Board meetings, record and circulate minutes
  • Monitor Board action items and liaise directly with Board members to ensure completion

Human Resources

  • Prepare employee/contractor agreements, and position descriptions
  • Manage & maintain all HR contracts/agreements and employee records & leave registers
  • Ensure performance reviews and contract renewals are scheduled and actioned

Office Management

  • Responsibility for efficient running of Kea’s Auckland office
  • Manage external suppliers relations
  • General office management
