Help us to help New Zealand manufacturing businesses grow bigger, better, faster into Beijing
This role will give you the opportunity to work with the New Zealand government’s international business development agency. New Zealand trade to China has enjoyed strong growth since the signing of the Free Trade Agreement in 2008- and this is just the start! We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join our team in Beijing and help New Zealand manufactures thrive in China.
This is a specialist customer portfolio. We are looking for someone who understands the complexities of the manufacturing in China, for the Chinese market. You will use your expert knowledge to assist New Zealand manufacturers successfully navigate the Chinese manufacturing landscape; including strategy, operations, supply chain and product sourcing. This is your opportunity to broaden your horizons and engage with a range of fantastic business at a strategic level. You’ll use your specialist manufacturing knowledge and operational experience to proactively support New Zealand manufacturing companies develop and execute their business growth plans in China.
Based in the New Zealand Embassy in Beijing and reporting directly to the Trade Commissioner, you’ll work with other Business Development Managers to drive commercial outcomes for our customers. As part of the wider global organisation, you will work with colleagues in Greater China, New Zealand and our other international offices to achieve the New Zealand government’s economic development goals.
Ideally you’ll have assisted a business evolve from manufacturing in China for export, to the development and production of products for the local market. You’ll have the confidence and ability to engage senior New Zealand and Chinese business leaders in risk management and commercial strategy discussions. Your expertise, excellent communication skills, and drive to achieve success for our customers will be critical to your success.
