We continue to assemble our products in New Zealand and ship world-wide, however we are now seeking to establish a warehouse and distribution centre in Rancho Cucamonga, California to service our US customers.  We offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced warehouse and distribution manager to set up and operationalise this centre.  This will include:

 ·        Designing and implementing the layout and flow of product within the distribution warehouse ensuring productivity and efficiency

·        Making recommendations for equipment, racking layout and any specialised systems required for the smooth and efficient flow of inwards and outwards goods and products

·        Implementation of appropriate security measures

·        Recruitment of required resources

·        Establishment of the process for fulfilment of all customer orders including Amazon orders

·        Set up for all transaction and credit card processing

·        Establishment of a standard operating procedure for Returned Merchandise Authorisation (RMA)

·        Onsite leadership for all employees and contractors

 Your success in this role as a member of our dedicated team will depend on:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in business, logistics or other qualification
  • Training or equivalent experience in warehouse and distribution management and physical product movement
  • Experience in planning for and setting up a new Warehouse and Distribution operation
  • Experience working effectively in a remote environment
  • The ability to negotiate and agree contracts
  • Experience using IT systems for inventory control
  • Knowledge of lean systems or other means for cost reduction and waste management
  • Project management skills
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • A collaborative and team-oriented approach
  • A positive attitude

The successful candidate for this role will spend approximately one month in New Zealand pre-Christmas to work with the management team in planning for this new warehouse and distribution centre.  Implementation of the plan will commence in January 2019.  If you are interested in a start-up challenge where you can bring to bear your talents, skills and experience, we would love to hear from you.
