About the role

Demand for our services is growing, and we want to add a public policy expert ready to make a difference on the most difficult issues. The appointment will be as a Consultant or Senior Consultant, depending on experience, and be based in our Wellington office.

You will take the lead on diverse assignments across a broad range of public and private sector clients, applying public policy expertise and working with experts in other disciplines from across our service lines. 

Our requirements

We are looking for exceptional public policy professionals who:

  • have a passion for using rigorous frameworks to find innovative and practical solutions to important public policy issues
  • ideally, have experience of designing and reviewing regulatory frameworks
  • are familiar with innovative policy frameworks, and can support the development and application of a social investment approach to specific cohorts or issues
  • excel at managing projects and relationships to deliver successful public policy outcomes
  • can combine their expertise with other disciplines and perspectives to create fresh thinking
  • have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • have a track record in making a difference.

A minimum of five years' relevant professional experience is required, ideally including policy leadership positions and an excellent academic record, including undergraduate or post-graduate qualifications in economics, commerce, public policy or another relevant discipline. You may have worked in central government, local government, or in the private sector with exposure to government.
