NZTE works with some of New Zealand's most forward thinking companies, helping them grow internationally bigger, better, faster.

We are looking for our next Trade Commissioner based in London to drive winning strategies for New Zealand companies within Europe.

Our Trade Commissioner, London, manages a team that works closely with customers in the UK and Ireland to help them grow bigger, better and faster.  Promoting New Zealand's commercial interests and supporting New Zealand companies to access and develop business opportunities is integral to the role.  You will work closely with the Regional Director, Europe, and play a senior role in the European Leadership Team, implementing NZTE's strategic goals across the region.

We are looking for someone:

  • Is a confident and commercially savvy leader who can support both direct reports and NZ companies.
  • Who knows how to lead a team and lift capability to the next level.
  • Who will bring mana and an innate credibility and presence
  • Who will seamlessly connect with business networks and other off-shore NZ government organisations in support of NZ Inc.

The ideal applicant will have a track-record in coaching high-performing teams, a background in delivering results and excel in an environment of rapid change and broad remit. You must be comfortable working with ambiguity, a consummate executor and an excellent public speaker. The role requires a confident communicator with the ability to listen and understand the needs of different audiences. Commercial expertise with an international focus is mandatory.

Tell us how and why you will help New Zealand businesses continue to forge their paths in Europe and support key in-market sectors with an intensive customer-focussed approach.

This is an official representative role and the preferred candidate will be subject to a number of vetting processes, including NZ national security clearance.

The expected start date for induction into this position is mid-July 2018 and the role is for a minimum of 3 years.
