NZTE works with some of New Zealand's most forward thinking companies, helping them grow internationally bigger, better, faster. We are looking for our next Trade Commissioner based in Beijing to drive winning strategies for New Zealand companies within China.

As part of the Greater China leadership team you will play a significant role in implementing NZTE's strategic goals across the region.  You'll be an inspiring and commercially savvy leader who leads a diverse team to access, develop and secure opportunities to maximise the value for New Zealand businesses in market.

With an innate credibility and presence you'll seamlessly connect with business networks and government organisations.   Beijing Embassy is the biggest New Zealand Government representation in the world therefore the ability to work in collaboration with other agencies across NZ Inc is vital to this role.

As with all of our critical leadership positions in market, you'll need commercial expertise with an international focus, providing both the head office and local market perspective.  Strong relationship management and influencing skills will enable you to leverage key strategic relationships across the region's private and public sectors.

You'll also be a confident communicator with the ability to listen and understand the needs of different audiences.   Ideally you will have a track record in coaching high-performing teams, a background in delivering results, and thrive in an environment of rapid change.

This is an excellent opportunity to build your career in a truly international organisation.  For more information about the role please see the position description.  This is an international posting with a minimum duration of 3 years.  The preferred candidate will be subject to a number of vetting processes, including NZ national security clearance.
