Want to unleash the potential of New Zealand businesses in East Asia?
Excited by developing and leveraging opportunities as part of NZ Inc?
NZTE works with some of New Zealand's most forward thinking companies, helping them grow internationally bigger, better, faster. There are fantastic opportunities for growth within the Food & Beverage, ICT, and Manufacturing sectors and we are looking for our next Trade Commissioner to drive wining strategies for New Zealand companies within Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar.
You will lead a Bangkok-based team that works with customers; promoting New Zealand's commercial interests and supporting New Zealand companies to access, develop and maximise business growth opportunities. As part of the East Asia Leadership Team you'll also take the lead on implementing NZTE's strategic goals across the region.
We are looking for an experienced leader who is able to lift capability to the next level; the ideal applicant will have a track-record in coaching high-performing commercial teams and a background in delivering results. You'll need to demonstrate mana and credibility to integrate into the market and cultivate new networks and key stakeholder relationships.
As for all of our critical leadership positions in market, you will bring commercial expertise with an international focus, providing both the head office and local market perspective. Strong relationship management and negotiation skills will enable you to maintain and leverage key strategic relationships across the region's private and public sectors. You will ideally have previous experience in Thailand - knowledge of local customs and the local language would be highly advantageous.
This role reports to the Regional Director who is based in Singapore. The appointment to Trade Commissioner is for a minimum of 3 years. This is an official representative role and the preferred candidate will be subject to a number of vetting processes. The successful candidate will receive a thorough induction programme as well as language training (if needed).
Applications close 8th October at 11.55pm (NZ time).
