Reporting to the Group Manager Corporate Services you will lead the development and implementation of Council strategies for communications and community engagement. You will coordinate the long term and annual plans and annual report processes, and articulate the Council’s intentions, programmes and results in innovative and engaging ways that grow the positive reputation of the Council and its commitment to the Westland community.
Your Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will have proven knowledge in issues, trends and techniques relevant to traditional and digital communications and community engagement. Ideally you will have a track record of results in complex organisations providing thought leadership and management support at a senior level. A sound knowledge of local government issues and processes would be advantageous.
You will likely have a relevant qualification and experience in corporate communication or planning. Your exceptional relationship building and communication skills, both written and verbal will be crucial to your success.
