Established in 1999, is a national not for profit membership organisation that promotes a culture of health and safety across New Zealand’s construction and related industries.  Site Safe’s services ensure that businesses and leaders develop quality health and safety systems and foster excellent health and safety behaviours on and off site.  Health and safety positively affects site productivity, contractor relations and reduces harm.  Changes to health and safety legislation and the growing awareness of the value and importance of health and safety means there are ongoing opportunities for Site Safe to be a key influencer for positive change.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, this role has direct responsibility for the effective performance and growth of Site Safe across the South Island. Leadership, motivation and development of the team is critical as is the strengthening of relationships with Site Safe members, customers and related industry stakeholders.  Developing capability to deliver health and safety services and products (including training) to meet the needs of the construction industry is a core responsibility. 

The Southern Regional Manager is also expected to contribute at a national level as a part of the National Leadership Team by giving strategic thought to the overall direction that Site Safe is taking and by contributing to the development of a nationally consistent organisation that is proud to be safe.

This role is ideally suited to a successful construction industry business manager with a current knowledge and understanding of the practices and issues in the industry.A passion for changing the culture of health and safety is essential.  Advanced interpersonal and communication skills are required.  Effective leadership skills, proven financial management skills, and experience in the development of a business through relationship management and high level service delivery are other key requirements.
