The Role

Reporting to the General Manager – Service Delivery (Christchurch) and collaborating with Connetics centralised support functions, you will be responsible for establishing and leading Connetics’ Southern Service Delivery business based in Central Otago. The Southern Regional Manager will develop and execute a regional specific strategy and lead the operational performance of the region. A significant area of focus is the implementation of Connetics’ vision and culture and driving the growth and development of the region across all areas including customer management, safety, people, financial, commercial and delivery.

You will be accountable for developing relationships with key customers within the region and securing opportunities to grow the business – including working with other Business Unit Managers to grow Design & Engineering and Supply & Logistics services in the region. You will ensure regional plans and targets are achieved, legislative and regulatory requirements are met and work is delivered safely, on time, within budget and in accordance with the relevant technical standards and customer specifications.  

Leading a strong safety and leadership culture is imperative and we are after someone who demonstrates Connetics’ philosophy that our people have the solutions to current challenges they face and is able to develop and grow the capabilities, the people and teams across this region.

Skills and Experience

This role requires a strong mix of leadership, strategic thinking and commercial acumen coupled with proven operational, customer and financial management experience at a senior level. You will have exceptional communication skills, the ability to be influential across a diverse range of stakeholders and work collaboratively with leadership peers throughout Connetics in the interests of the whole business. Experience building capability and improving performance within your functional team as well as leading geographically split teams are essential. 

At the core of this role is the leadership of a team across the specialist areas, therefore proven leadership is essential to grow the region into an established and performing delivery operation. A relevant tertiary or electrical industry qualification and knowledge of the electrical supply industry, regulations and contractor management are paramount.
