Auckland is growing rapidly and our Infrastructure Division is growing at a pace to match. We have significant projects focused on developing our city spaces and transport infrastructure, building a city that is vibrant, resilient and exciting to live in.

The Role

Our team provide planning expertise and guidance to deliver the organisation’s objectives. Your work will include high profile transport initiatives such as the North-Western Rapid Transit Network and Botany to the Airport Rapid Transit Network, and delivering Auckland Transport’s walking and cycling programme and land-use transport integration initiatives.

As part of our team your work will contribute to providing high quality transportation choices that transform our city’s landscape for those who live in it well into the future.

You will manage consultants to ensure that all regulatory approvals are obtained and guarantee the successful delivery of Auckland Transport projects.

You will be involved through all stages of a project’s lifecycle to ensure post-construction effects are managed. With the opportunity to closely interface with key partners including the NZ Transport Agency, KiwiRail and Auckland Council, you will be able to build strong relationships with other industry leaders.

Our Planners embody best practice and use their professional expertise to grow the skills and knowledge of the team.

What We Need

Our ideal candidate will be a Senior or Principal Planner with strong commercial insight, experience with both strategic and regulatory planning and time management skills. They will have the ability to translate strategy into processes and frameworks for others to use, and will see change as opportunity.

Leadership comes naturally to them, as does their pro-active planning style, flexible approach, and ability to mentor and develop the capability of other team members.

Apply your full suite of skills and experience within an agile team and help realise Auckland’s potential. This is the opportunity to be a part of the organisation delivering New Zealand’s largest, most innovative and fast paced transport system ever.
