Make an impact in this planning delivery role where you will take the lead working with our clients who are doing incredible things every day. You will play a senior role across our Wellington planning and environmental team where you will be delivering community shaping projects across Wellington and the surrounding regions.
You will be joining a team that is known locally for our ability to provide high quality planning and environmental consulting advice. We work on diverse projects such as ‘Planning for Growth’ in Wellington City, the Te Ara Tupua (Nga Ūranga ki Pito-one) walking and cycling link and the Omāroro reservoir. We lead projects of all sizes for a diverse group of clients and work as an integrated team of 120 planners and environmental scientists across the country.
We are looking for a high performing professional with a real passion for planning who is motivated to deliver for our clients, with a collaborative, team based, and people focused mindset. We are trusted advisors and respected by the many disciplines and professions we collaborate with on projects.
In this role, you will have plenty of scope for success with wide exposure to complex projects and clients, providing you with extensive career and professional development opportunities. You will have the opportunity to learn from leading local planners and technical directors as well working in a nationwide practice which includes some of the county’s top planning practitioners.
About you | Te rongoā
You will be an experienced planner, who is passionate about making a difference working in a team that delivers complex community, infrastructure and development projects. We are looking for a savvy, innovative and commercially minded professional with a collaborative approach who is motivated to be part of, and strengthen, our growing planning and environmental business.
You will need to have a thorough knowledge of the Resource Management Act 1991, with strengths in statutory and strategic planning. This position requires excellent communication skills and a broad understanding of a range of disciplines related to planning matters.
You will also need to have a natural flare for leadership and the ability to engage effectively with clients, stakeholders and the general public. You will have a tertiary qualification in planning and / or resource management and be a full member of the NZPI or working towards this. We have flexibility to shape the role around you, depending on your level of experience.
