The Role:

Following a recent internal promotion, WMP requires a new Senior HR/People & Capability Manager to provide additional senior HR leadership throughout both WMP’s Hokitika and Christchurch based operations. Reporting to and as 2IC to the General Manager People and Safety, this role will lead and develop the HR team (4 direct reports) and work across the business providing sound operational HR advice, coaching and assistance to WMP managers and their teams. The role will develop a deep understanding of the business and help manage transformational change and the development of a culture of accountability throughout the organisation. The ability to contribute to the development and roll-out of new organisational values and engagement initiatives is also highly desired.

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will be a tertiary qualified HR generalist with well-developed Employee Relations experience, and able to demonstrate proven success at building the capability of HR ‘across and down’ throughout a business. Well versed in performance management principles and robust HR frameworks and with a proven history of coaching for performance, applicants will also ideally possess an element of OD and change management experience.  Superior coaching, leadership and influencing skills are essential and exceptional relationship building abilities are non-negotiable.
