Our Client

New Zealand Institute for Minerals to Materials Research (NZIMMR) is a recently established organisation to drive a step change in value and thinking in the use of New Zealand’s mineral resources. NZIMMR will substantially increase the prosperity of the West Coast and New Zealand by moving the focus of activities from mining of minerals to manufacturing of minerals through research and its commercialisation and pushing the boundaries of traditional thinking.


The Role

Reporting to the CEO, the Senior Business Analyst (SBA) will lead Business Analysis activities of NZIMMR. Working closely with the CEO and leadership team you will develop business cases, standardise business data and reporting, and market analysis for all research concepts and projects. You will provide cost modelling and business case development to support the commercialisation strategy to capture revenue from successful projects, IP, patternable methodologies, licences, retained ownership and R&D activities. In addition, you will manage the research business analysis budget and develop and maintain strong research and industry networks to facilitate collaboration and maximise partnership opportunities, in conjunction with the Chief Research Officer.


Your Skills and Experience

To succeed in this role, you will be experienced in business case development, in particular cost analysis, identification of potential revenue streams, competitive advantage and exit strategies. You will understand the principles and practices of research and development and have experience in data development and market analysis. You will be an experienced Business Analyst with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Your expertise in gathering, analysing and commercialising of technology based research data will be crucial to your success.
