WCDHB have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Health Practitioner to join Rata Alcohol and Other Drugs Service on the wonderful West Coast.
This role will be responsible for the provision of comprehensive assessment and treatment interventions for individuals experiencing substance addiction.
In addition to managing a case-load including clients of our opioid substitution programme, candidates from a nursing background can consider the opportunities for induction of clients onto newer substitution medications as well as exploring the potential for local detoxification services.
Candidates from other disciplines will be encouraged by the opportunity to develop their skills in delivering advanced, focussed, evidence-based treatments and harm reduction models to promote health and improvements in psychological well-being and social functioning.
The successful candidate will work as an autonomous practitioner in hospital and community settings but enjoy the support of a multidisciplinary team and colleagues within the wider mental health setting. Superior communications skills will enable the candidate to engage, motivate and maintain clients in treatment while also assisting in developing services amongst the wider community.
