The ‘One Plan Project’ is an agreement between the Local Government Commission and the West Coast Councils to develop and implement a combined District Plan for the region. The primary objective of this project is to work with all stakeholders to achieve a high quality and effective District Plan for the West Coast region.
Reporting to the CEO of the West Coast Regional Council and supporting the independent Chair of the ‘One Plan Project’, you will lead the end to end project delivery including identifying, building and maintaining effective relationships between all stakeholders and partners including Iwi. You will provide overarching project leadership, with a primary focus on stakeholder engagement, PMO management and project implementation activities. Additional responsibilities include developing and implementing project controls and methodologies and effectively managing and reporting on project progress.
Your Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role you will have a relevant tertiary qualification, experience leading complex projects along with a background in coordinating multiple stakeholders and consultants in a planning or local body environment. A background in local body planning or regulatory interpretation is advantageous.
Of equal importance will be your excellent communication and relationship skills, being detail focussed and having the ability to understand the social and economic outputs of policies and plans on stakeholders and the commitment to build a region wide District Plan through effective engagement and consultation.
