Ngāti Rangi Group seeks the right Pou Ārahi / Chief Executive to support the Trust in the post-settlement environment. A new role based in beautiful Ohakune in the skiing and outdoors-rich Ruapehu, the Pou Ārahi / Chief Executive Officer is a critical role for the future of Ngāti Rangi, and follows in the footsteps of former well-respected leaders. Post-settlement structures are in place – some are longstanding – but the new Pou Ārahi / Chief Executive Officer will continue the development of the new post-settlement environment with professional management, overseeing prudent financial investment, and in excellent relationships with Trustees across the new Ngāti Rangi group.

Ngāti Rangi Trust was established in 1992 to promote environmental, advocacy, economic, social and cultural aspirations in the rohe. The Trust has since evolved to form a new group of entities including social and commercial entities. The vision is for Ngāti Rangi is to be vibrant, prosperous and rich with opportunities that flow on to benefit all Ngāti Rangi uri.

The role will suit a person with highly developed skills in communication, people leadership, sound management track-record and who can build coalitions of support, effective advocacy and translate multiple workstreams into priorities which deliver real benefits and outcomes.

Preferred candidates will have open, empathetic and collaborative leadership qualities. They will be exceptional in forging partnerships, demonstrating commercial acumen and have a track record of delivering outstanding results through a positive staff culture. The ability to work effectively with a Board and a work history of strong team development skills will also be important competencies.
