The New Zealand Embassy in Washington, DC is seeking a Policy Adviser (Locally Engaged Position) for the Embassy team responsible for advancing New Zealand’s policy objectives in political and security relationship with the United States. The Policy Adviser’s role is to provide policy advice and support on a range of foreign and security policy issues, with a focus on the Pacific.

We are looking for someone with an ability to think critically and analytically, with strong research skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, sound judgment and good problem solving capabilities. They must be flexible and adaptable, able to build and maintain effective relationships, and able to work as part of a high achieving team.

The successful candidate must be a New Zealand citizen and able to obtain and maintain an appropriate New Zealand security clearance.

This is a permanent, locally employed position, with terms and conditions being set in accordance with US employment regulations. No off-shore allowance, transfer allowance or provision of housing applies.
