Play an integral role in supporting the Regional team by producing high quality research reports, manage data quality, leverage statistical models and professionally present information to increase value for customers.
Assist and provide research, data, analytics and reporting for multi-customer work, as requested by the Regional team.
Conduct targeted market research from initial scoping and planning phases, to design and interpretation of recommendations, working closely with the local team to ensure proactive understanding of our customer needs.
Uncover trends, patterns and correlations within data to build sound commercial understanding and generate thought-provoking customer insights.
Produce thorough and well-organised reports, presentations, data tables and graphics to summarise and explain insights and their implications.
Liaise and engage with internal stakeholders as needed during research projects to inform approach, analysis and final recommendations.
Collaborate with NZTE's global research community, to share insights, best practice and relevant outcomes.
Provide input into the development or amendment of strategies and business models as required through in-market intelligence gathering.
Preparing reports and strategy papers for the Lead Team, the Board and Ministers, draft ministerial responses, briefing papers and responses to parliamentary questions, as required.

What you'll need to be successful:
Commercial acumen – At least two years' experience working with or advising businesses, maximising commercial outcomes, plus knowledge and expertise in exporting and operating effectively in international markets.
Relationship Builder – Deep listener, who takes time to really understand. Skilled at building and continuously growing strong trusted relationships with customers.
Flexible – Able to be proactive and reactive all at the same time, managing multiple priorities and eliminating roadblocks without being knocked off balance by the unexpected.
Great analysis – Proven ability to conduct and produce research, analysis and reports to a high standard. Skilled at identifying key insights across large information sets (data and anecdotal) and making them meaningful for leaders.
Extras – High-level proficiency in the use of the suite of MS Office software and experience with applications such as PowerBI, Tableau, R, ARCGIS, Carto, Rapidminer, etc. is an advantage. Tertiary qualifications in economics, marketing, or business, and/or relevant work experience
