EQC is a crown entity with a mission to reduce the impact of natural disasters on people and property. The Commission supports people in their greatest hour of need when dealing with natural disasters like earthquakes, floods and landslips, funds and facilitates research to build understanding of natural disasters and helps educate New Zealanders on how to prepare for and mitigate damage from natural disasters.


This is a great time to join EQC as it reshapes itself for the future and moves towards more proactive external and internal communications. This newly created role involves leading a small communications team including a Digital Channels Manager and a Graphics and Multimedia Designer, to get things done.  You’ll be translating the communications strategy into action and working with other business groups to help them deliver on their projects.


Your CV will reflect your ability to build strong relationships at all levels of an organisation and deliver compelling internal and external communications, in a complex environment with tight deadlines.   An effective, engaging leader, you will empower and enable your team to deliver outstanding results. 


To be successful in this role you will need to be fleet-footed in an ambiguous and constantly changing environment, and able to manage and prioritise your work to meet tight deadlines.
