As the subject matter expert and ‘go-to’ person in the lab, this position has an impact across the business. The role supports projects related to the evaluation of different raw material feeds to extract titanium dioxide alongside other topics in the group including industrial chemistry, inorganic product development, technology piloting and scale up.
Candidates require a PhD in inorganic chemistry with in-depth knowledge of Aqueous Chemistry. An industrial practitioner, experience in sulphating, crystallisation, and hydrolysing are required. Analytical techniques used include XRF, XRD, SEM and of value will be expertise in the extraction of titanium dioxide. Curiosity and excellent communication ability, with a consultative, enquiring style are needed in this entrepreneurial environment. You enjoy thinking conceptually and solving complex problems, challenging findings, combining data, writing detailed reports and present findings to senior executives.
