The business owns the electricity network assets ensuring that the network effectively planned, constructed, operated and maintained.
The Head of Network Safety & Risk will play a key role in providing health and safety and risk leadership at operational, management and Board level for Aurora. The ongoing development, implementation and consistent application of standardised health and safety systems, processes and procedures across the Network’s two regions and within contractor businesses is a core responsibility. This newly created, senior level position will “own”, implement and track the Board approved Aurora Health & Safety Strategy and Implementation Plans. It will also have responsibility for maintaining the strategic risk register, business continuity planning and crisis management processes.
This role involves vision, strategy, contractor engagement, monitoring and implementing risk management standards. It requires senior level health & safety experience including the ability to successfully lead significant health and safety initiatives. You will have a background in safety systems and process safety together with a strong understanding of asset risk management. The ability to passionately and proactively establish health and safety visibility, at all levels within the business is required. Experience in the electricity or similar relevant high risk environments is regarded as being beneficial. It is expected that you will have a relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent safety management experience.
