Delta is a diverse contracting and infrastructure services business based in Dunedin with operations reaching across the South Island.  Its sister company and largest client Aurora Energy is the electricity distribution business for greater Dunedin and Central Otago.  The organisation is currently undertaking a significant transformation project called Project New Energy to orientate their structure and culture toward customer service, technical agility and a more future based focus.  This process has resulted in the creation of a number of dynamic and interesting positions across the business which they now seek high calibre applications for, including the Head of Logistics.

This newly created, key position will have a wide ranging, progressive impact across the Delta and Aurora businesses through the dynamic mix of responsibilities attached to it.  Reporting directly to the GM Technology Solutions, the Head of Logistics will establish and manage the strategic supply chain function to ensure material availability, drive efficiencies in purchasing and inventory management and optimise the internal/external mix of manufacturing.  The leadership and development of a team of 30 people is a core responsibility as is the effective aggregation of a number of customer focused laboratory and workshop functions.  

We have particular interest in highly motivated supply chain professionals with specific experience in reviewing, changing and improving supply chain performance.  The proven ability to effectively lead, manage and develop supply chain teams and individuals is essential.  Previous electricity industry experience whilst being beneficial is not essential.  Candidates will be commercially astute and highly safety and customer focused.  They will possess effective communication skills together with advanced interpersonal and relationship skills.  A relevant tertiary qualification or compensating experience is required.
