- Lead Engineer role
- Electricity Industry Leadership Role
- Dunedin Lifestyle Opportunity
Delta is a diverse contracting and infrastructure services business based in Dunedin with operations reaching across the South Island. Its sister company and largest client Aurora Energy is the electricity distribution business for greater Dunedin and Central Otago. The organisation is currently undertaking a significant transformation project called Project New Energy to orientate their structure and culture toward customer service, technical agility and a more future based focus. This process has resulted in the creation of a number of dynamic and interesting positions across the business for which they now seek high calibre applications.
Reporting to the GM Network Performance, this newly created senior role requires a modern and forward thinking engineering leader who will develop and implement future focussed network strategies, along with driving improvements in the network performance and infrastructure. Leading a team of 20 through 4 direct reporting staff, this newly combined engineering and design team requires an experienced leader who will provide a coaching and mentoring focus in order to develop capability and retain key talent. A key accountability will be building a collaborative team with a culture of delivering fully scoped and completed work packages that can be handed over in full for operational delivery. The regional nature of the role and Aurora’s significant medium term asset investment profile makes this an attractive role for the right candidate.
This successful candidate will be a qualified, future focused engineer with experience in electricity markets, the energy sector, transmission or distribution design. This is a critical leadership role of a large and newly formed portfolio, so a demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach and develop people at all levels is essential. A strong understanding of technology, innovation and an understanding of future network challenges is also desirable.
This exciting opportunity should appeal to a progressive senior leader who is seeking to combine an attractive southern lifestyle with a challenging new role to position them for future career advancement.
