Our Risk and Compliance team is currently on the journey in transforming risk management and we are looking for a customer risk specialist to come join us. This aspiring team partners across the enterprise to provide risk support, guidance and insights to ensure good risk management, both today and in the future.

About the role

As an organisation we realise that to best support our customers, we need to adapt the way we think and move away from the old school, traditional approach to risk management. In order to uplift our risk maturity and capability across the bank, we need to develop and embed first line risk management strategies with a customer-centric approach.

As a leader, you will coach and mentor a team of Risk Managers who act a foundation of support for BNZ by providing guidance and assistance to meet all first line risk management accountabilities.

We are looking for a capable leader to be the voice for customer risk awareness and drive our passion to deliver a world class risk management innovation.

About you

For us to become a world class risk function, we need a customer risk advocate to ensure risk frameworks are fit for purpose and identify risk indicators across value chains throughout our customers journey within BNZ.

Alongside your demonstrated success in senior operational risk positions, you'll have experience in conduct risk frameworks and knowledge of international and local conduct risk regulations.

You'll utilise your ability to make sound decisions in high pressure environments, as well as building sound relationships and influencing across all levels. Knowledge and experience in financial services industry is a bonus.
