Lyttelton Port Company (LPC) is the largest Port in the South Island of New Zealand and is the international gateway for goods coming in and out of the region, facilitating the movement of $5.6 billion of exports and $4.8 billion of imports last financial year. With a focus firmly on the future, these are exciting times for LPC as they navigate a significant transformation and evolution of the organisation, with a refreshed strategy focused on culture, innovation, optimisation, and business growth. With a 5-year business ‘turn around’ plan in place and the recent independent review of workplace culture completed, the newly created Head of Culture and Transformation will sit at the heart of the organisation’s focus on Whanaungatanga. The role will have a high degree of visibility across all operational areas, we are seeking a ‘leader of change’ who will support LPC leaders to design, develop and execute organisation-wide initiatives aimed at the continued transformation of the culture.
Reporting directly to the General Manager of People & Safety, your focus will be to:
- Build and lead the Culture & Transformation Team
- Develop strategy and action plans to enable the senior leaders to address the five central themes identified in the Review
- Develop a new leadership framework & enliven the LPC Values across the organisation
- Coordinate staff engagement surveys & related workplace development activity.
The successful candidate will have genuine passion for developing workplace culture and point to a successful track record of supporting leaders embed organisation-wide behavioural and cultural change. You will have significant organisational development experience, knowledge of contemporary change management practices (including Prosci), will be outcome-focussed and skilled in the translation of strategy into action. Proven experience collaborating with Unions and exceptional communication skills with the ability to move across organisations at all levels, is essential.
