Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer this is a significant leadership role responsible for enabling credit decisions across all products and channels from mass consumer to institutional banking.  The role has a clear mandate to focus on the transformation and simplification, leveraging technology, to enable faster more consistent credit decisioning. Sitting on the Risk Leadership Team this role will contribute and drive the Risk's strategic vision across BNZ.  

The Head of Credit Decisioning (HOCD) is a credit specialist role, leading the credit decisioning function across all customers including both retail and corporate.  These teams are executing on the strategy and rules and a key focus is leading a high-profile technology transformation program of work modernising and automating the credit decisioning systems and processes.

The HOCD is also a Partner on the Risk Partners executive team and is flagged for succession to the CRO role. This role leads a team of 40, with 6 direct reports.

Within the banking domain, we are seeking executive level candidates with deep credit experience with a macro level/technical bias.
