Delta is a diverse contracting and infrastructure services business based in Dunedin with operations reaching across the South Island. Its sister company and largest client Aurora Energy is the electricity distribution business for greater Dunedin and Central Otago. The organisation is currently undertaking a significant transformation project called Project New Energy to orientate their structure and culture toward customer service, technical agility and a more future based focus. This process has resulted in the creation of a number of dynamic and interesting positions across the business for which they now seek high calibre applications. 

Reporting to the GM Network Performance and leading a team of 10 staff, this senior position will develop strategy and the long-term asset management plan, to deliver optimal and sustainable management of performance, risk and expenditure over the life cycles of our assets. This role will work collaboratively with key stakeholders to develop and implement Network Standards and an accurate Asset Management System, as a ‘single source of the truth’. You will be the ‘business owner’ of asset management, working to improve the data analysis capability, spending 80% of your time thinking and working to a timeframe out beyond three to twenty years. An important focus will be the development and implementation of investment and renewal strategies that anticipate future technologies and customer needs, mitigating risk exposure in the medium and long term for Aurora’s assets. 

The successful candidate will have a relevant degree qualification with extensive experience in strategic infrastructural asset management, ideally within the electricity markets and distribution industry. This role requires a practical understanding of distributed asset management; process thinking; risk management; future trends; along with a demonstrated experience leading asset management teams.
