The opportunity has arisen for a skilled Group Manager to lead the Council’s Asset Management while ensuring that Council policies, aims and objectives are met. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer you will be responsible for leading a team to effectively manage the District’s Assets Group which includes stewardship for transportation, three waters, waste, parks, reserves, cemeteries, township development and property infrastructure. Leading the Asset Management and Capital Projects Programme, this role involves multi department and stakeholder collaboration to meet statutory and legislative requirements, while driving customer service excellence. You will participate in strategic leadership as a key member of the executive team, while being committed to developing and managing the organisations infrastructure in support of the Westland community.
Your Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role, you will have a strategic and operational engineering and/or asset management background, leadership skills and an understanding of Council regulatory responsibilities. Project Management, and demonstrated experience in a similar role, is preferred. You will be a strategic thinker capable of providing policy advice, have an operational perspective with an appreciation of risk management. You will have managed and led teams successfully and have experience building upon a positive workplace culture.
You will have a relevant engineering qualification and experience in a similar or demonstrated capability through a related role. In addition, your exceptional communication, stakeholder management and relationship building skills will be crucial to your success.
