This role is located in Nelson on the South Island of NZ. Our preferred candidate will either live locally or relocate for this role.

Our Client

The Freeman Group manufacture, supply and install steel roofing, accessories, fascia gutters and services to housing, commercial and industrial markets. Established in 1969, the Freeman Group is one of the largest family owned steel roofing manufacturers in New Zealand. The Freeman Group comprises eight distinct branches, mostly located throughout the South Island (https://roofing.co.nz/). The Role

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, your key responsibility will be to drive the integrity, accuracy and efficiency of all the financial areas across the Freeman Group. You will be responsible for contributing towards long term financial strategy development and business planning, while implementing sound financial practices. Responsible for the successful operation of all aspects of the Finance and IT functions, you will manage financial reporting and the financial stability and sustainability of the organisation. You will lead corporate, financial and risk management operations, provide strong leadership and direction to your team, and enhance financial methodologies and procedures. You will build first-class relationships and grow the commercial capability of the branch network. Collaboration and communication will be key as you will be an active participant in the senior executive team and play a pivotal role in leading the organisation through its vision and values.

 

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will be a CA Qualified Accountant with proven experience in a similar level role. Ideally you will have manufacturing industry experience, coupled with a strong down-to-earth interpersonal style which will help you develop lasting relationships. You will also have the leadership capability to enable you to mentor and develop individuals within the team.
