This pivotal role will lead the safety and wellbeing strategy and function within the Group, championing a positive safety culture and influencing managers to ensure our staff are safe and well.
The role will develop and implement safety and wellbeing strategy and plans as well as drive and lead safety and wellbeing with a focus on maintaining safe behaviours and supporting a proactive safety and wellbeing culture. Providing regular ‘hands on’ face to face interaction and collaboration with leaders within this diverse group of businesses, this role provides technical HSE support and advice to managers, team members and customers. The role provides functional support, expertise and direction to risk advisors within the business as well as supports and manages all aspects of the HSE system.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate knowledge and experience implementing a positive safety culture and through your strong working knowledge of Safety and Wellbeing legislation and practices be able to manage safety systems with a focus on supporting safe behaviour at all levels. Experience developing safety and wellbeing strategy will be important.
You will be highly adaptable, flexible, and innovative with a real passion for keeping people safe. You will have a ‘hands on’ approach and the ability to demonstrate strong communication and influencing skills at all levels. In addition, you need to enjoy working within a team environment with a down to earth and enthusiastic approach.
We are looking for someone who enjoys the challenge of influencing and engaging with people who embrace change and have solid experience with wellbeing initiatives. A relevant qualification and experience in a similar role are essential and experience managing risk is also an advantage.
