Delta is a diverse contracting and infrastructure services business based in Dunedin with operations reaching across the South Island. Its sister company and largest client Aurora Energy is the electricity distribution business for greater Dunedin and Central Otago. The organisation is currently undertaking a significant transformation project called Project New Energy to orientate their structure and culture toward customer service, technical agility and a more future based focus. This process has resulted in the creation of a number of dynamic and interesting positions across the business which they now seek high calibre applications for, including the General Manager – Operational Service Delivery.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the appointee will play a critical role in leading the safe, high performance delivery of electrical distribution capital and maintenance services for Aurora and a number of other South Island based customers. Leading a business with 165 staff through 5 direct reports, key areas of focus will be safety and risk management as well as positive leadership and development of the people in the team to drive new standards of performance and customer value. Closely aligned responsibilities include financial performance management, customer relationship management and statutory compliance. The appointee will also contribute strategically to the wider business as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and have direct, regular involvement with the Board of Directors.
This role requires senior level operational management experience gained in the electricity or other relevant infrastructure sectors. With highly significant revenue, profit and leadership responsibility you will have demonstrated skills in business management, operational delivery, leadership, strategic thinking and performance enhancement. It is expected that you will have a relevant degree qualification and/or equivalent management experience.
