THE COMPANY:

Based in Timaru and employing approx. 80 staff, Alpine Energy manages South Canterbury’s electricity distribution network (connecting over 31,000 customers) as well as operating a fibre optic communications network.  The company is owned by the South Canterbury community and as such, all profits go back into the community by way of dividends and local sponsorship.  The Alpine Energy Group also consists of subsidiary companies, NETcon (an electrical contracting company), and Infratec (delivering renewable technology projects in New Zealand and overseas) in addition to complimentary investments in metering and technology companies - On Metering and SmartCo.

 THE ROLE:

Reporting to the CEO and a key member of the executive leadership team, the General Manager Service Delivery is a new role with responsibility for leading Alpine’s network operations and service delivery functions ensuring the effective strategic and operational management of the network.  More specifically, this role will:-

 ·         Manage all access to and from the Company’s Electricity, Fibre and Metering networks

·         Manage, monitor, and respond to operational integrity of the networks

·         Manage the Company’s regulatory management of SAIDI and SAIFI including regular reporting

·         Lead the key objectives of the Customer Services Manager and team

·         Lead the key objectives of the Operations Manager and team

·         Lead the Contractor Management functions and specific Project Management functions of the future

With a forward thinking and innovative approach, the GM Service Delivery will drive the delivery of efficient, customer centric services to the consumer and maximise relationships with operational service providers, encouraging innovative engagement methods and fostering a culture of collaboration to ensure the optimised performance of the network.  This role will also proactively embrace the opportunity to evaluate and deliver new network services in order to respond to disruptive technology developments and changing consumer demands.       

THE CANDIDATE:

Applicants will possess a proven track record of senior leadership experience together with a well-developed knowledge of electricity distribution from a contractor management and operations perspective.  Ideally tertiary qualified, candidates will be able to demonstrate experience of leading the successful operational performance of a large-scale asset and have a focus on fostering a culture of customer centric service delivery.  Well-developed commercial acumen is essential in addition to exceptional relationship management, influencing and communication skills along with the ability to embrace innovation.
