The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director, and located at the Christchurch Head Office, our client is seeking a commercially experienced GM Retail to lead the national retail network of stores throughout the country.

You will be responsible for leading the Regional Managers to run high performing store operations, maximising performance and profitability. You will coach and mentor the retail team whilst developing business strategy, planning, budgets and inventory levels. You will oversee the stores H&S and HR functions, coordinate retail and IT systems, while constantly looking to innovate and grow the national retail operation.

Skills and Experience

To succeed, you will have proven multi store retail management experience ideally within FMCG. You will bring a structured approach to business planning, and a strong understanding of retail operations including merchandising, store layout, stock forecasting, and promotions, and understand the numbers. You will also be a resourceful leader who communicates effectively and creates an empowering culture to achieve great outcomes.
