The Cancer Society of New Zealand is a well known and highly regarded not for profit organisation dedicated to reducing the incidence and impact of cancer in the community. The Cancer Society works with communities to provide leadership and advocacy in cancer control, with core services in supportive care, health promotion, information, advocacy and research. This key role will report to the Chief Executive and will be responsible for managing the Division’s fundraising projects and activities throughout the Canterbury-West Coast Division. You will contribute to the overall strategic development and management of the Division’s activities and develop an annual programme plan and budget. You will be responsible for a variety of national and divisional programmes, appeals and events along with identifying new ways to raise funds, including sponsorship, grant applications and managing bequests. Working in a small team, you will need to be able to roll up your sleeves and oversee all fundraising initiatives including coordinating volunteers and staff. You will add value and play a vital role in the work of the Cancer Society of New Zealand by contributing at a national level.
To be successful in this position you will have a proven track record implementing and leading fundraising activities at corporate and community levels. Your ability to network and develop and sustain strong relationships with a diverse range of the community will be imperative to your success. You will operate with a high level of empathy and professionalism and model these qualities across all aspects of the role. You will be an outstanding communicator with excellent organisational skills and a hands on approach. A clean drivers license is essential for this community focused role.
