AgResearch is a vibrant organisation with 760 staff currently spread nationally across four campuses and 9 farms. With a purpose “to enhance the value, productivity and profitability of New Zealand’s pastoral, agri-food and agri-technology sector value chains to contribute to economic growth and beneficial environmental and social outcomes for New Zealand”, AgResearch partners with the pastoral sector to identify and deliver the innovation that is needed to create value for New Zealand. AgResearch plays a key role in delivering new knowledge and technologies which underpin the pastoral, agri-food and agri-technology value chains.
As a key member of the Executive Team this senior position will co-pilot the CEO, and have significant strategic influence. The role will encompass leading both the full financial management and reporting functions in addition to the ongoing development and management of the business performance frameworks and reporting across the organisation. This position will also develop business performance dashboards; lead the PMO (over 800 projects); manage the investment and commercialisation portfolio and represent the entity on various Boards and governance groups.
Candidates will be CA qualified with a strong commercial background, likely developed in the private sector or in professional practice in a senior position. Key aspects of this role include requirement for strong leadership and partnering skills and an innovative approach to building organisational performance.
