Geraldine High School is a school of opportunities in rural South Canterbury.  Key values of respect, responsibility, relationships and achievement underpin all aspects of school life, where every student is valued.  The school aims to nurture, challenge and inspire each young person in their academic, physical, cultural and social development.  A decile 8 co-ed school, with a roll of 570 Year 7-13 students, the school fully utilises the expertise, resources and environment around them, valuing the rural foundations of the school community.

Reporting directly to the Principal, the Executive Officer/Business Manager is a finance focused role, with responsibility for the effective management of the school’s key non-teaching functions - including finance, administration, staffing/HR and school assets.  You will work closely with all support staff and teachers, the Board, parents, and other relevant community stakeholders to facilitate the smooth running of the school from a business perspective.  You will also manage a diverse range of projects, supporting the Principal as they lead the school.

You will possess strong financial/accounting skills, together with a proven track record of success in a team environment.  Thorough organisational skills and a focus on achieving results are essential, along with strong commercial acumen, sound judgement, confidentiality and time management.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to be an innovative problem solver and strategic thinker are also critical to the role.

This is a great opportunity to expand your career, working in a supportive people-focused and collaborative environment that really makes a difference to the success of future generations.
