The University of Auckland is New Zealand’s flagship research-led university, recognised for the excellence of its teaching, its research and service to local, national and international communities. In 2016, it publicly launched “For All Our Futures”, the most ambitious fundraising campaign in New Zealand history, aiming to raise $300 million to address critical challenges facing our community. There are alumni and supporters of the University around the world.
Reporting to the Director of Alumni Relations and Development in New Zealand, this position forms an integral part of the University’s advancement team, driving its fundraising activities in the UK.
Key responsibilities include:
· Working closely with the UK Friends of University of Auckland particularly the Chair and Board members, including strategy and planning
· Cultivating and soliciting major gifts through the active management and growth of a portfolio of high value prospects in the UK
· Relationship management with a wide range of stakeholders, including expat alumni and the Vice Chancellor and Deans of Faculties

Previous major gifts fundraising experience and a relevant tertiary qualification are required, as is exceptional communication and relationship building skills with a successful track record in these key competencies. The ideal candidate will be of the highest integrity, organised, and results oriented, a self-starter able to work independently but also have the ability to work as a team member, albeit remotely. A good understanding of, and empathy for, the mission and values of the University of Auckland is a must.
This is a one year part-time contract for three days a week, based in the UK, preferably London, with a salary of circa £50k pro rata, plus a performance related bonus. Continuation of the contract will be reviewed annually.
