College House is a co-ed hall of residence for 160 University of Canterbury undergraduate students. Modelled on the Oxbridge concept, it has a rich history with students enjoying strong traditions and heritage. As well as the provision of a strong academic tutoring and pastoral care structure for students, it also offers conference facilities for hire during the holiday periods.
Reporting to the Principal and working closely with the senior leadership team, this role will manage all internal/external communications for College House (CH), coordinate the relationships with Alumni and with the major donors, and is responsible to oversee the Conference business. You will provide proactive administrative support in areas such as:
· Supporting the Assistant Principal to manage logistics for all events e.g. Inductions, Formal Dining, Chapel, Feasts
· General secretarial support (correspondence, diaries, meeting minutes, preparation of newsletters and other complex documents)
· Attending all senior leadership meetings and following up on action points
· Travel and accommodation logistics
· Providing strategic project support to the Principal.
Applicants will have experience working as an Executive Assistant, with proven ability managing a busy and diverse workload, together with proficiency in all aspects of MS Office. Exceptional communication and organisational skills are essential, along with a professional, customer-focused and values-led approach. The successful applicant will be an easy fit to the team and our values, possess impeccable judgement, a positive personality, excellent initiative and a sense of humour. Prior experience in a student-centred environment may be advantageous but is not essential.
