The Christchurch Foundation’s role is to help generous people and companies achieve their dreams for the city of Christchurch, New Zealand. The Foundation distributes funds to causes in our city that are important to our donors. We provide a wide range of vehicles through which businesses, bequests and endowments are filtered to ensure gifts are impactful and can be seen and felt among the neighbours, communities and suburbs. Reporting to the Chief Executive, this role focuses on leading the fundraising efforts for The Christchurch Foundation in order to achieve the organisation’s strategy and fundraising goals. You will participate in the strategic planning process to build sustainable relationships across New Zealand and the Kiwi diaspora. Your key responsibilities include nurturing and stewarding community relationships at varying levels, connecting with businesses and professional services who wish to partner with the Foundation, as well as implementing agreed strategies to attract and deliver donors and partners.
The role requires a high level of organisational skills, enthusiasm, energy and passion to achieve success. You will have demonstrated experience in business development, proven ability in take people on a journey to support our city and wide travel experience is also an advantage. Strong skills developing and sustaining relationships with a diverse range of people in the community, you will be warm and engaging and able to quickly build trust. Self-driven with the ability to operate autonomously as well as part of a small team, this role requires someone who is willing to ‘think outside the square’. You need to think creatively and be willing to push boundaries to ensure the Foundation is relevant and delivering on it’s promise to those that give through the Foundation.
