What will you be doing?

This is a pivotal role reporting to the Chief Executive and leading the evolution of Tourism NZ’s marketing strategy, methodology and associated audience and insight frameworks. This includes the core creative narrative represented by the 100% Pure New Zealand campaign. The role takes a strategic approach to how we plan and optimise our global marketing, media partnerships and trade channels and is responsible for the creative philosophy and the standard of creative output for the organisation.

You will lead the global development of our Marketing Strategy as well as an integrated marketing team that works across brand, content, PR, insights and trade disciplines and collaborates with in-market teams to bring New Zealand to life in a way that effects consumer preference, desire, motivation and ultimately make the decision to visit. The Director Marketing will take a multidisciplinary approach to content generation and audience identification to maximise the effectiveness of our investment on behalf of New Zealand.

What we want from you?

We need an exceptional senior marketing leader, with international experience. This role demands creativity, raising the bar of marketing execution, measured risk taking and accountability for results. You will have extensive experience working across consumer insights, the creative process, brand development, marketing, trade and PR, across paid, owned and earned media channels. You will bring well developed people and stakeholder management capability and display high enthusiasm and drive, as you will lead a high performing energetic team. Māori culture is an integral part of both New Zealand and Tourism New Zealand, therefore knowledge or an openness to learn Te Reo and Tikanga Māori is essential.
