To support their continued growth, Synlait are in the process of implementing IBP – Integrated Business Planning – an international best practice company-wide management process, proven to increase efficiency, effectiveness and profitability. IBP ensures an in-depth focus and alignment throughout all areas of the business from business development, sales, operations and supply chain including supporting functions of finance, human resources and information technology. IBP will give Synlait much more complete business management information over a 24-36 month horizon, facilitating improved levels of financial and operational performance, increasing employee engagement and driving customer satisfaction.
Reporting to the GM Sales, and leading the Demand Planning team of 2, the Demand Planning Manager is responsible for accurately forecasting and managing short and long term customer demand, whilst optimising profit to the business and ensuring volume, revenue and gross margin forecasts are valid and robust. This position will drive the IBP process across the Sales team, and be a key conduit between the Business Development, Sales/Demand and Supply areas of the business, ensuring that customer expectations are delivered upon. Proactively managing internal and external risks or variances to the Demand Plan will be a key focus.
We seek business/commerce tertiary qualified candidates, along with at least 10 years’ experience in a combination of sales and demand planning roles. A background in international dairy or complex manufacturing is advantageous, as is IBP experience. Candidates will offer a solid understanding of the sales process, along with excellent planning and financial analysis skills. The ability to focus on structure, planning and process whilst operating in a highly dynamic environment is essential. Exceptional communication and influencing skills are key to the role.
