Are you looking for a challenging contract management role with a large, privately owned, Southland business?

SouthRoads Ltd, a member of the H W Richardson Group, is a highly successful construction business which has established an enviable reputation in the dynamic and challenging roading and civil engineering contracting environment.  The Company has its Head Office in Invercargill and currently operates in the Southland, Central Otago, Dunedin and Waitaki regions. SouthRoads were awarded the NZTA Southland NOC contract in 2016 and have recently retained a number of other significant roading contracts. 

Reporting to the Southland Regional Manager, this Invercargill based role will manage the contract for NZTA as the primary account manager.  The Contract Manager will lead and co-ordinate the contract management team, staff, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants ensuring that contract performance meets all customer obligations.The role will deliver zero harm project objectives, optimise resource use and achieve key targets including leadership, team and financial management, business development, planning, client liaison and reporting.  The Contract Manager will lead a significant operational team and will also proactively manage the relationship with SouthRoad’s supply partners in this contract.

Suitable applicants are likely to display the following attributes:

Significant experience managing and leading teams effectively

Strong relevant contract management experience, preferably but not necessarily, in roading or construction

Proven track record in developing a culture of performance, that supports zero harm management, encouraging and rewarding excellence

The ability to develop effective, positive relationships with clients and suppliers

A focus on delivering identified results on time and within budget

Strong problem solving skills

A relevant technical tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
